Best DAW – Ableton Live 9

You could argue, of course, that there is no real ‘best DAW’ – they all do what they’re supposed to do (and a ton of other things) and the one you use is either defined by your computer, what you were brought up with, or have become accustomed to using. Live 9, though, seems to have risen above all of that and has literally left everyone else standing in this category. That’s probably because, as we said, ‘Live 9 is an excellent example of how a company can radically update its software while retaining what made it attractive in the first place’.

A close second: hats off to everyone else, really, as every DAW had a major update this year and each one scored very well in our reviews. So, in no particular order, well done to the following: Steinberg Cubase 7, Apple Logic Pro X, Avid Pro Tools 11, Propellerhead Reason 7, FL Studio 11 and Sonar X3.
