Ableton Loop Create

Ableton has unveiled the schedule for its upcoming Loop Create event. The interactive online show enlists industry professionals to share their expertise with attendees for free.

Loop Create will be hosted on Ableton’s Loop microsite on 26-27 June. The day will feature a range of sessions and activities, with a focus on the theme of ‘Site and Sound’. Each session will explore the different ways a producer’s environment can affect their creative output, encouraging them to explore new avenues.

Sound engineer and educator Liz Teutsch is hosting a workshop on recording everyday objects, as A.Fruit will create new sound effects live on the spot. Spitfire Audio LABS’ Dan Keen and Leo Wyatt will share their technical wisdom of processing field recordings and transforming them into playable software instruments.

Kenyan experimental artists KMRU will host an in-depth Q&A session on environmental and cultural influences on music practice. Additionally, Perera Elsewhere will be performing with band members Toto Wolf and Owen Gerlitz, with visuals by Hugo Holger Schneider.

In between workshops, attendees can hang out at the Loop Cafe, a virtual space with “a menu of musical thought experiments and conversation games”, Ableton says.

To ensure that attendees from all time zones can attend, Ableton is repeating each session after an eight-hour cycle. Presenters Sky Deep and Christa Belle will introduce each session and keep new attendees in the loop with upcoming and previous workshops.

You can register for the free event until 20 June, when registration closes.
