For a more stocking-friendly piece of kit this year Akai has announced new wireless versions of its compact controllers, the LPD8 and LPK25

LPK25 & LPD8

The LPD8 still features the same six UI buttons and eight assignable pots as before, but now features a Full Level function that will ensure that all pads deliver equal velocity. “The LPD8 Wireless delivers exactly what mobile producers and performers have been waiting for – great beat-making couple with freedom of motion and no cords to worry about,” said Dan Gill, Product Manager for Akai Professional.

Much like the former the LPK25 remains relatively unchanged but does come equipped with a Sustain pedal input. The absence of cords means that the LPK25 can be used “to play, record and control…plug-in instruments from anywhere in the room.”

Whilst their appearance remains almost unchanged both controllers are fitted with a new chassis, an updated design and will be compatible with iOS, Mac and PC over USB and Bluetooth.

The LPD8 wireless and LPK25 wireless will ship in December for £70 each. For more information head to the AKAI website.
