Berlin-based boutique company Jomox has revealed the Alpha Base, a new analog drum machine and synth rolled into one…

Whilst it’s price tag is an astonishing €1,699, the Alpha Base does come packaged with some impressive features and is the “best-sounding and most versatile drum machine” the company has ever built according to designer Jürgen Michaelis. These features include kick drums, snares, percussion, bass and toms that are all created using the onboard synth as well as slots for sample-based percussion uploaded via SD card.

Let’s not forget the addition of the FM synth, which is able to create up to six voices. Think of it as an alternative, albeit a high-end one, to Novation’s Circuit.
