Flux Mini is a free envelope shaper for easy sidechaining and creative modulation

With control over amplitude and high-pass and low-pass filters, this is a freebie you’re bound to use

Caelum Audio, the developer behind Tape Cassette 2, has released Flux Mini, an envelope shaping plug-in that’s to add character and dynamism to your tracks. The plug-in is a free download available for desktop and iOS users.

Envelopes are created via the simple graph display, where you can place and drag nodes to create multiple curves. You can change the shape in real-time and can watch how the audio is affected by a comparative representation.

Flux Mini can create envelopes for amplitude and for low- and high-pass filters You can select which parameter to affect by clicking the respective button. Each one can be manipulated using three dials that define tempo sync, resonance and mix. Resonance accentuates the filter resonance on the low-pass and high-pass filter so has no effect on amplitude.

The plug-in comes loaded with 20 presets to quickly dial in a range of envelopes, from subtle sidechain effects to erratic envelope shapes. You can also save custom patches that you’ve created.

Flux Mini is available as VST3 and AU for Windows and macOS, and as AUv3 for iOS and iPadOS.
