Cranborne Audio releases 500R8 and 500ADAT racks
Innovative new 500-series racks with USB and ADAT connectivity are available now.
The 500R8 is capable of housing up to eight 500 series modules, whilst also being a rather versatile 28/30 channel USB audio interface, monitor controller, ADAT interface and summing mixer.
Its design is intended to make it a centrepiece of a modern studio and is aimed squarely at musicians, engineers and producers who are looking to upgrade their audio interface and delve into the 500 series format. Resulting in – what Cranborne Audio describes as – “the dream analogue/digital hybrid studio”.
The 500R8 is able to connect to a PC or Mac via USB to record 28 and playback up to 30 channels of audio. Its portability also makes it potentially useful as a mobile interface.
The 500ADAT, on the other hand, is suited to those that want to maintain their current audio interface but branch out with their connectivity and use the ADAT format.
The 500ADAT can connect directly with all those unused ADAT ports that are so often under-utilised, whilst also housing and integrating the 500 series rack with high-performance AD/DA conversion.
The two units can also be connected together to create what Cranborne describes as an ‘integrated analogue/digital hybrid system capable of utilising all 16 available 500 series slots during recording, mixing and summing’
