Of all the digital audio workstations available to us, Ableton Live 10 isn’t often considered as one of the best for audiovisual projects. EboSuite is set to change that, with a plug-in suite for Ableton Live that transforms it into an audiovisual studio to create, sample, play, mix and manipulate visuals in the way you would with audio.
EboSuite allows you to load in videos to Clip View as you would with audio, and crossfade, mash and trigger different videos simultaneously. In true Cassetteboy fashion, you can trigger video via MIDI to slice and stitch different segments of video together to create something entirely new. You can also use MIDI to trigger video effects so that a drum pattern can open up a world of visual colour.
This looks like it would be an ideal tool for artists and music producers looking to spice up their live show, or perhaps audiovisual artists looking for new ways to craft their art. EboSuite says that “using precise musical timing and an endless array of audio-based parameters to control your visuals, EboSuite allows you to seamlessly merge the realms of music and visuals together. You can now create impressive live shows, music videos and presentations, and leave your audience awestruck”.
EboStudio, the company behind the innovative plug-in, has created examples, templates and tutorials to show you the ropes of EboSuite, getting you up and running without facing a steep learning curve. EboStudio was founded in 2018 by prize-winning artist Jeroen Hofs (aka Eboman), who has been passionately pioneering in the field of audiovisual art and tech.
EboSuite is available now for €159. Find out more at ebosuite.com
