Eventide brings TriceraChorus out of the H9 park and into your DAW

After introducing TriceraChorus to its H9 Harmonizer effects unit, Eventide has made the triple-pronged chorus available as a plug-in for macOS, Windows and iOS.

Inspired by tri-chorus pedals of the 70s and 80s, the effect uses bucket brigade delay-style tri-chorusing with Eventide’s proprietary micro-pitch detuning. The latter is a means of thickening the sound, applying static chorus and widening the stereo image with parameters allowing you to detune left and right signals in opposite directions. A Detune knob allows you to adjust the pitch by up to +/- 40 cents.

Three is the magic number here, with three chorus voices and three chorus modes onboard. A three-phase LFO offers modulation for delay times on the Left, Center and Right voices for intriguing stereo effects found in music tech equipment of the golden era of the 70s and 80s.

Chorus mode creates a classic chorus stompbox, while Chorale mode – inspired by rackmount tri-chorus units – adds deeper movement to your sounds. Chorus Mix lets you dial in the amount of the effect, from a subtle wobble to dramatic vibrato. Swirl mode shifts frequencies in the stereo image to give you psychedelic flanger. Use Tone to attenuate low and high frequencies and sculpt the sound of TriceraChorus.

Following suit with other H9 plug-ins, TriceraChorus features an intuitive GUI for live performances, including Eventide’s Ribbon feature, providing swift blending between presets. Hotswitch will let you quickly jump from one setting to another, with the settings of both features saved per-preset.

TriceraChorus for macOS and Windows is available as VST, AAX, and AU plug-ins, with an introductory price of $39 until 10 November. The iOS version of TriceraChorus is available for us as a standalone app or as an Auv3 plug-in and is on an introductory offer of $10 until 13 October, moving up to $15 thereafter.
