British music technology brand Focusrite has announced four new products, comprising three Thunderbolt-equipped audio interfaces and a desktop monitor controller. As part of the Red series of audio equipment, these new devices sport a sleek, ocean blue finish. Just kidding, they’re all red.

The newest addition to Focusrite’s Pro Tools HD, Thunderbolt and Dante audio interfaces is Red 8Line. Boasting 58 inputs and 64 outputs, this is designed to cater to the needs of Pro Tools HD users, but of course is also usable with other DAWs, be it Mac or PC. Those running Windows will be pleased to know that the Red 8Line comes with new Windows 10 drivers. The Red 8Line features two Red Evolution mic preamps with up to 63dB of gain and 24-bit/192kHz AD/DA conversion with 119dB dynamic range AD and 121 dB dynamic range DA.

Focusrite’s RedNet A16R MkII and RedNet D16R MkII are 16-in/16-out interfaces in 1U rack format. These new iterations share the same features as their predecessors, but with enhanced functionality for professional use. This includes individual level controls for input and output channels for accurate calibration when hooking up equipment. These are both designed for use with Dante Audio, with different output options depending on the model. A16R MkII features fully analogue inputs and outputs, while the D16R is an AES3 audio interface.

Focusrite RedNet

The RedNet R1 is designed specifically for the Red range. It can be used to mix and route the inputs of up to 32 audio sources with a range of different monitor output settings, from mono to 7.1.4 surround and Dolby Atmos. Focusrite’s controller can control groups of outputs from a Red interface, including from Pro Tools HD and other DAWs, analogue inputs and outputs, ADAT and S/PDIF connections and from Dante Audio-over-IP.

RedNet R1 also features controls for level, reference level preset selection, cut, dim, mute and an array of different solo modes. There is also an A/B functionality to switch between monitoring presets and up to four fold-down presets to check downmixes. It has Dante-enabled talkback, an internal mic and an XLR input for connecting an external mic, plus a high-powered headphones output. With the RedNet Control Software, you are able to set up monitoring and routing configurations.

These products are all set to arrive in November 2020. For pricing and more information head to pro.focusrite.com
