1More’s ColorBuds 2 is the brand’s first set of wireless earbuds to feature SoundID from sound calibration specialists Sonarworks. It comes hot on the heels of a new partnership between the companies.

SoundID calibrates the EQ curve to a listener’s taste by first taking them through a sound test. Users go through a series of A/B sound comparisons, and SoundID will create a custom listening profile based on those results.

All this is done through the 1More Music app, which is available on both iOS and Android.

Aside that, the earbuds come with active noise cancelling (ANC), a transparency mode and wireless charging. You can get them in three colourways: Midnight Black, Frost White, and Twilight Gold.

The earbuds are also equipped with SBC, AAC, aptX and aptX Adaptive codecs for Bluetooth. The aptX codecs are said to deliver higher-quality audio when connected to a compatible phone.

The ColorBuds 2 has a battery life of six hours, and a total of 18 hours with the charging case. Each earbud can also be used independently, and with the IPX5 rating, these buds will survive even the sweatiest of workouts.

Sonarworks is also the company behind SoundID Reference, which sits at the pro and creator end of the market. If you’re interested in learning how calibration software helps in the mixing environment, head over to our review here.

The ColorBuds 2 are available now at $79.99.
