Ultra Analog VA-3 is Applied Acoustic Systems new version of its analogue synth for Mac OS X and Windows. “This new version is all about adding new dimensions to the classic analogue sound,” says Eric Thibeault, product designer at Applied Acoustics Systems. The synth sports two independent multitimbral voices designed for a performance-friendly interaction. These voices can also be stacked or split. To support its maker’s intention for easy performance control, the VA-3 has four macros per layer, responding to user-defined MIDI controls. Each sound features modulation, timbre, envelope and effect morphing assignments that can be played in real-time.
Another addition to Ultra Analog VA-3’s sound engine is the ladder filter, emulating Moog’s classic analogue low-pass circuit.
Ultra Analog VA-3 comes loaded with 500 new sounds, as well as refined versions of over 800 presets from its VA-2 library. The preset library has been created to explore the new possibilities the synth has to offer. With a brand new browser, the synth offers a more efficient way to find the sound you’re looking for, letting you browse by Pack, Sounds, Categories and Creators views.
AAS Ultra Analog VA-3 is available now for $199, or $79 as an upgrade for VA-2 users. Find out more at applied-acoustics.com
