Airpulse’s new P100x wireless speaker takes inspiration from the design of old school radios and comes complete with a wooden casing.

The wireless speaker packs a 4.5 inch mid-woofer and a pair of the brand’s patented Air Blade tweeters, which were designed by sound engineer Phil Jones, who previously designed the AE-1 near-field monitors as found in Abbey Road Studios.

The power button, volume, bass and treble control knobs are located on the front of the speaker, letting you ‘dial in’ your sound as you would if you were tuning in with an old-timey radio. However, it also comes with a wireless remote control for modern-day convenience.

Aside from that, the P100x also includes a Qualcomm Bluetooth 5.1 audio receiver and supports the aptX HD codec, which offers 24bit / 96kHz playback with compatible devices. For devices that require a wired connection, there’s also a line in connection onboard.

With a premium-looking cherry wood finish, the speaker should be an easy fit for most living rooms, bedrooms and so on.

The Airpulse P100x wireless speaker is available now at £499.99 each.
