It’s not uncommon for DJs to briefly have to leave the decks during a set. Of course, there is always pressure to return at lightning-fast speeds so as not to let the music stop. With djay Pro AI’s Automix function and let the AI-powered engine mix tracks while they’re away.

The AI can play fully automated DJ sets for casual music listeners, letting everyone sit back and enjoy their favourite tunes mixed live, without user interaction necessary. The Automix mode can mix across genres with various tempos, “in a way that could not be replicated by human DJs with conventional DJ gear”, Algoriddim’s CEO Karim Morsy says.

New Automix transitions include Dissolve, which evaporates the outgoing track; Riser will create a high-energy build up before mixing into a new track; and Echo, which will swiftly mix into a new track while the other track fades out as a delay.

Elsewhere, thanks to the Apple Neural Engine on new iOS devices, djay Pro AI’s Neural Mix feature can offer four channels of music isolation. This automatically splits vocal, harmonic, bass and drum content into their own channels in real-time, offering a more in-depth mixing experience. You can also loop and apply effects to each individual stem.

A new slicer is now available in djay Pro AI, allowing users to mashup and remix tracks with performance pads. In addition, the sampler recorder has been enhanced, now with a maximum loop size of eight beats, and nested loops enable users to keep parts looping while rhythms are being juggled with Bounce loop. Algoriddim says that “all these tools offer DJs more ways to creatively mash up their beats in a live set.”

Algoriddim’s djay Pro AI is available to macOS and iOS users via the App Store, free of charge.
