Audeze has launched Euclid, its first closed-back in-ear monitors, equipped with planar magnetic drivers. These are the brand’s priciest in-ears to date, and they step away from the flat, semi-open design of previous offerings such as the LCDi3.
Planar magnetic drivers are a signature feature of Audeze’s professional and consumer headphones. The tech involves sandwiching a plate-like diaphragm between two planes of magnets to regulate vibrations. In theory, this should result in lower distortion and a more pronounced dynamic range, based on the principle that drivers vibrate together in unison.
Meanwhile, Euclid’s waveguides help to reduce phase and extra distortion. The monitors also have a low impedance of 12 ohms, making them easy to match with a range of different audio players.
The Euclids are produced by hand in small batches. Included is a custom braided cable, Pelican 1010 travel case, mesh fabric bag, an assortment of ear tips, a cleaning brush, a cable clip and a certificate of authenticity.

Audeze’s Euclid in-ears are priced at $1,299. The brand also says it has plans to launch Bluetooth and a 4.4mm balanced cable later in March.
