Boss announces its first “electronic” guitar, the synth-loaded Eurus GS-1
The brand says the guitar will be able to deliver analogue-flavoured synth tones with “no latency or triggering issues”.

Electric guitar and synth sounds collide in the Eurus GS-1, the first-ever guitar from famed pedal-maker Boss.
The Eurus GS-1 features an onboard polyphonic synth engine that Boss claims operates with “no latency or triggering issues” and will allow players to combine electric guitar sounds with analogue-flavoured synth tones. There will be separate output jacks for both the electric guitar and synth sides.
Out of the box, the Eurus GS-1 comes preloaded with six “ready-to-play” sounds; there are said to be various synth types available, along with tone, resonance and other parameters. Through a companion GS-1 mobile app, users will also be able to create custom sounds and control the synth side on the fly.
The guitar itself comprises some premium appointments, including a 24-fret compound-radius fretboard, two custom-voiced humbuckers and Gotoh hardware that includes locking tuners and a two-point vibrato.
Boss also announced a “powerful creative partner” to the Eurus GS-1: the EV-1-WL MIDI expression pedal. This wireless controller has a foot rocker and a switch positioned in the toe position.
Players will be able to assign different parameters to the controller, including pitch bend, hold, filter depth and more. It’s possible to expand control further with up to two additional external foot switches.
The Eurus GS-1 will be available in October for $2,200.
