Denise Audio continues its series of Essential plug-ins with Perfect Room and Slappy, with an offer on these and other plug-ins from Black Friday through to New Year’s. We very recently reviewed Bad Tape, another recent Essential release from Denise Audio, and loved it – this gives us good reason to be excited about these brand new effects.

Perfect Room is a reverb that utilises Denise Audio’s TXVerb technology, which was invented specifically for Perfect Room. The company set the challenge of creating a reverb that goes beyond the usual algorithms of reverb plug-ins, in which a combination of short feedbacking to create an illusion of reverb.

TXVerb means Perfect Room doesn’t use delays to create space, and instead “enhances the character and colouration of any audio you run through it in an extremely natural way” according to the brand. This means that those metallic resonances and sharp spikes in other reverbs are not present in Perfect Room.

Perfect Room features three tail shapes, logarithmic, linear and square, and five different room types, ranging from bright to dark. Shimmer, Detune and Ducker will create more complex textures and overtones, whilst preventing the reverb smearing the signal.

Slappy is a saturated slapback delay that currently comes free with any purchase of Denise Audio plug-ins. It takes saturation from Bad Tape, using a smoothing algorithm to create a warm, analogue sound found in vintage tape machines.

Perfect Room usually costs €109, but is currently on offer for €34.90, plus you can get Slappy for free over Black Friday, which costs €29 when purchased on its own.
