NAMM 2020: EVE Audio to debut the SC3070 three-way monitor
The studio monitor specialist introduces a precise near/mid field monitor in a small form factor.
NAMM 2020: EVE Audio, the German studio monitor specialist, will be showing off its latest compact monitoring solution, the SC3070 – a three-way, near/mid field high-resolution speaker.
EVE Audio has impressed us in the past with its conveniently sized studio monitors, and the new SC3070 appear to continue this trend. Designed and assembled in Berlin, the compact speaker is a high-resolution, tri-amplified near/mid field monitor. The company says the speaker is “optimised for precise midrange and powerful bass response”, which could make them ideal in an environment where a three-way monitor solution is essential, but where space is tight.
The SC3070 features EVE Audio’s RS3 Air Motion Transformer to deliver high-end frequencies with clarity. A four inch glass-fibre honeycomb diaphragm woofer is designed to produce reliable midrange frequencies with the utmost detail. The monitor’s seven inch low frequency driver, also with a glass-fibre coated honeycomb diaphragm, provides a powerful bass response. The monitor cabinet houses a bevelled ultra-stiff front plate to reduce undesirable resonances.
The frequency response parameters are controlled by DSP electronics supported by a 24-bit/192kHz A/D converter from Burr-Brown. Three Class D amps are connected to the DSP section with no additional conversion, providing further reliability. The front panel features a volume and room EQ control rotary knob for integration into a variety of listening environments.
Expected to ship in Q2 2020, the EVE Audio SC3070 will be priced at €1700 each, find out more at eve-audio.de. You can see them at the upcoming NAMM show, which you can follow here.
