JBL’s One Series 104 monitors target modern producers
High-grade audio for compact spaces.
JBL has released the One Series 104, a pair of reference monitors geared towards modern producers working in smaller spaces.
Despite their compact form, these monitors aim to deliver high-grade audio via new 4.5-inch coaxial drivers which pump out clear highs and deep bass, according to JBL. The drivers’ contour design is based on the same research that spawned the waveguide found in JBL’s M2, 7-series and 3-series monitors. The result, says the brand, is a wide sweet spot for immersive listening.
Along with audio clarity, the 104s are also designed to eliminate distortion at louder playback levels. This is thanks to integrated 60-watt Class D amplification, enabling the speakers to reach a peak output of 104db SPL.
Externally, the monitors are housed in a sleek, modern enclosure, and for convenience, the front panel features a headphone out and volume control. Round the back are dual 1/4-inch balanced and single 1/8-inch unbalanced TRS inputs.
