NAMM 2021: Building on Korg Wavestate’s impressive wave sequencing engine, the Wavestate SE takes all the controls of its smaller stablemate and pairs them with a larger, 61-note keybed with aftertouch.
Designed primarily for performance, the Wavestate SE’s front panel and knobs are made from rugged aluminium. It also has new programming and revised patches to take advantage of the new aftertouch feature.
Hear it in action below. The playing starts at 0:48.
Like the original Wavestate, the 61-key version has vector control, 64-voice polyphony and numerous filter options including models of the Polysix and MS-20.
At this point, it’s fair to say Korg has stolen the show at Believe In Music Week. The Wavestate SE announcement sits amongst an impressive range of new products including the ARP2600M, miniKorg 700FS, Modwave, Drumlogue and Gadget VR.
Pricing and shipping dates are yet to be announced.
