Ozone Imager has been updated, extracting some of the technology from iZotope’s award-winning mastering package, Ozone 9. Available as a free download, Ozone Imager is a plug-in that can be used to widen or narrow the stereo image of specific sounds in your project or your mix as a whole.

The new version includes a new Stereoize II mode, allowing for more flexibility in creating stereo imaging effects. This is an addition to the classic Stereoize I mode, which offers creative, colourful stereo effects for your instruments. Stereoize II gives a more “transparent, surgical widening without phase issues or artefacts, perfect for percussive sounds” according to iZotope.

Multiple mastering options help avoid unbalanced or washy results, with metering options that can show you if the mix is too wide, too narrow or out of phase. The GUI has been updated to show smoother visualisations with three different vectorscope meters. Ozone Imager’s plug-in window can be resized, allowing for an expanded view of the interface.

Ozone Imager is included in Ozone Elements, Ozone 9 Standard and Ozone 9 Advanced. Alternatively, you can head over to the Ozone website and download it for free as a VST, AU and AAX, you just need to sign up with your email address.
