Puremagnetik’s latest plug-in aims to annihilate your audio in musical ways. Antoka is a bit-crusher, foldover resampler and AM/FM crossfader all rolled into one.
According to the brand, Antoka is based on guitar pedals that employ ring modulation, envelope following and distortion – an example of this being Moog’s now-discontinued MF-102 Ring Modulator.
Through its features, you’re able to achieve a range of sounds, from extreme bit-crushed tones to more subtle effects such as layering AM overtones onto your signal.
Gain detection and envelope follows your input signal, meaning Antoka responds to each new amplitude trigger dynamically. Furthermore, it can pitch track incoming audio. There’s also an in-built LFO with a control labelled Cipher that sets the amount of modulation on the effect’s resolution.

Antoka is available now in VST and AU formats for Windows and MacOS. It’s available to subscribers of Puremagnetik’s $9/month Spark subscription program now. Otherwise, Antoka will be available the following month for $20 on its own.
