Soundation has decided to offer premium subscriptions to its online music creation suite to schools affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Music teachers and students can now sign up for the service, which activates 1 April and lasts until 30 June.

“We realized that there is a huge need for online music education solutions right now, so we’ve decided to offer it for free in order to support and encourage young music makers to stay creative during this challenging time.” says Adam Hasslert, CEO of Soundation.

To receive this offer, music educators and students will have to create a free account — which, after filling out a survey — will be upgraded to premium status. Having done so, teachers will be able to create group pages within Soundation’s community to facilitate lessons.

The premium subscription to Soundation lets users create unlimited projects, access loops, audio samples, effects and software instruments. The company have shared a video highlighting what can be achieved with the service:

While it might not boast the functionality of full-fledged DAWs Logic Pro X or Ableton Live 10, the workflow and user interface could be a great starting point for beginners. Soundation could be an ideal tool for introducing audio recording and virtual instruments, particularly as the suite includes effects like EQ, delay, reverb and distortion.

Soundation Premium is usually priced at $6.99 a month. Learn more about this offer on soundation.com
