DJs looking to hone their skills can now do so in virtual reality thanks to a new partnership between Tribe XR and Pioneer DJ.

Tribe XR, a DJ training app that runs in VR, has added the Pioneer DJ CDJ-3000 and  Pioneer DJM-900NXS2 professional mixer to its platform. Both are authentic digital reproductions of their physical counterparts.

Tom Impallomeni, Tribe XR’s CEO and co-founder, hopes the addition of real-world gear to the app will inspire home DJs to turn pro.

“Our goal is to turn aspiring DJs into performing DJs,” he said in a statement. “We are delighted that our community can now learn and perform with the CDJ-3000 and DJM-900NXS2, in virtual reality, no matter where they are.”

Tribe XR is available for $30/£20 on the Oculus Quest platform and works with several VR headsets, including Oculus Rift and Steam VR. It also supports its community with resident DJ mentors and on-demand lessons through an optional $5/£4 a month membership.

The app also includes a multiplayer component, which allows users to create private rooms and take turns spinning with others.

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for an affordable way to get your hands on an all-in-one DJ system, check out the Pioneer DJ XDJ-XZ we reviewed earlier this month.
