Trident Audio has launched the Hi-Lo, a dynamic tracking filter for 500 series racks.

The Hi-Lo 500 Tracking Filters is based on the tracking filters of the CLM Dynamics Expounder, a classic parametric EQ.

Tracking filters follow the amplitude of the audio source. They can be applied both practically and creatively in the studio. For example, they can target and cull air conditioning rumble on a track; or even be deployed as an adaptive envelope filter on a drum machine.

The Hi-Lo has four EQ bands: low and high, and sweepable low-mid and high-mid bands. The module splits into two parts, a high-cut and a low-cut.

Both feature similar control layouts. There’s a frequency knob; a resonance control which can be toggled; a bypass switch, and two selectable slopes (12 or 24dB/octave). There’s also a button for turning off tracking mode, should you want to, and a peak indicator.

Additionally, the Hi-Lo is compatible with the Radial Workhorse racks with a built-in mixer, and, if you get two, can be stereo linked.

The Hi-Lo retails at $500, learn more at tridentaudiodevelopments.com
