IK Multimedia is teasing a new product. Details are limited to a brief teaser video, above, but it looks like this could be a new artist signature rig for AmpliTube by Queen guitarist Brian May. Considering IK’s team-ups with the likes of Slash, there’s certainly precedent for it.
May’s signal chain is notoriously simple, including only a Fryer Treble Booster (previously a Dallas Rangemaster) into a metric boatload of Vox AC30s.
Of course, a large part of May’s sound is his hand-made Red Special guitar that May crafted with his father. We’d love to see IK do some clever modelling to make your Strat or Tele sound like May’s signature axe, but there are no more details available right now.
