Back in 2018, London-based music school Point Blank partnered with Chinese company NetEase FEVER to launch Point Blank China, a new school situated approximately 100 miles southwest of Shanghai. With the final touches put on the school’s new campus, PB China is now opening enrolment.
Point Blank’s new school is set to roll out in two phases. The first will offer six types of courses, with 16 different pathways to choose from. Courses include PB’s Intro to Music Production, Music Composition, Sound Engineering and Mastering, Art of Mixing as well as DJ courses tailored to both beginners and experts.
Phase two will see PB China develop into an institute of higher education capable of issuing both bachelor and master degrees. The school will also be a resource for professional advice, assisting artists aiming for a breakthrough in the music industry.
Students enrolled in PB China can look forward to attending classes at the school’s up-and-coming campus, which is located in the Zhejiang National Music Industry Base, Xiaoshan at Hangzhou’s International Expo Center. The campus’ 6,000 square-metre space will encompass a DJ classroom, music production room, music industry classroom, practice room, recording/mixing room, performing area, break-out area and more, according to Point Blank.
The music school notes that the curriculum at PB China will run parallel to its London counterpart, providing students with quality education aided by cutting-edge equipment. To this end, Point Blank has beefed up its new school’s faculty with certified Ableton trainers as well as industry experts well-versed in areas such as music production, DJing and music industry practice.
