InfraDeep releases PVX-800, inspired by the classic Polyvox synth
A duophonic, compact analogue synthesiser with original Polyvox features.
The Polyvox, or Polivoks, synth was created in the Soviet Union between 1982 and 1990 and was designed by Vladimir Kuzmin. Siberian-based company, InfraDeep, has paid homage to the synth with its new PVX-800, a duophonic analogue synthesiser that is designed to integrate into performance and studio environments.
According to the brand, PVX-800 has “original Polyvox filters” and uses “original design circuit ideas of the Polyvox analogue synthesiser from USSR”. It sports two VCOs with five wave types – Sine, Triangle, Saw, Square and ‘Shark’ (a combination between triangle and saw). Two ADSR envelopes are featured, with an LFO boasting eight types of waves, with a MIDI sync on the square wave. The PVX-800 has an onboard ring modulator, delay module and arpeggiator function, plus an audio input to process external audio signal through the filter and VCA section.
Available in blue and white, the PVX-800 has a 1mm solid steel enclosure, weighs 1.65kg, possibly making it ideal for those looking for a synth to take on the road.
