MusicTech 192 magazine

I write this fresh from MusicTech’s annual sojourn to Anaheim, California where, once again, we were lucky enough to spend some hands-on time with a wealth of brand-new music technology, set for release at various points throughout 2019.

The show was an eye-opening experience for various reasons: aside from the pure, giddy thrill of getting to see and hear what the industry has in store for us this year, it was wonderful to see so much eagerness, across the industry, to empower today’s music maker, whatever their budgets and creative ideas may be. This has always been our own modus operandi and it’s heartening to see the same mindset pervading the music-technology landscape.

That’s not to say there weren’t still those products that cater to the higher, pro-end of the market. For more on these and all the standout products at the NAMM Show that’ll be coming your way this year, head here.

Aside from NAMM, this month, we were able to spend some time at the legendary Rockfield Studios (recently seen on the big screen in last year’s Bohemian Rhapsody). It’s the location where many legendary recordings were made, including those by Queen, The Stone Roses and Oasis.

Elsewhere this month, we have our usual range of reviews, tutorials and interviews with Alice Ivy and Gary Stevenson. Enjoy the issue!
