It’s no secret that much of electronic music relies on arranging loops – MeldaProduction is aware of this too, which is why its release MSuperLooper. Designed as a live performance tool, the software lets you loop, record and overdub 16 tracks with up to four loops in each. A modular effects chain is available for each track, providing scope to build multi-part performances in a single window.

MSuperLooper can run as either a plug-in for your DAW or as a standalone application. The layout is intentionally void of any fiddly parameters or windows and is clear to see and use. Record, Mark end, Restart, Undo, Previous, Next, Clear loop, Clear track, and Reset all functions are all clearly available in the transport bar. These are also easily assignable to a MIDI controller. These buttons also take effect at the end of a bar by default, so you won’t be launching new clips out of time.

The plug-ins MXXX effects track lets you load in additional effects from the MeldaProduction family, provided you have the licenses. All of this is modular-based so you can really get in-depth with the modulation. You can also build an effects chain on three parallel channels for the recording loop and another three for the live input.

A spokesperson for MeldaProduction states that “Combining quick and easy multitrack looping with powerful effects processing, MSuperLooper is the ultimate looper plug-in for studio and stage”.

MSuperLooper is available now at an introductory price of £17. Find out more at meldaproduction.com
