An exciting new concept controller came into the eyes of the music technology community earlier this year – the MP MIDI Controller. Promising a new relationship with your plug-ins that no other controller could provide, the concept seemed almost too good to be true. Therefore, it’s surely good news to some that this controller is now available for pre-order.
MP MIDI is sporting an updated design now, with a high-quality wooden casing and a host of new features. This includes an expression pedal port and oversampling on hosted plug-ins, with tests undertaken on every DAW. Check it out on FL Studio below.
The controller boasts a 21.5-inch screen surrounded by 32 encoders, with compatibility across AU, AAX and VST. A host plug-in, MP Host, will let you dictate which plug-ins you want MP MIDI to control. The 32 encoders can be used on up to four pages, which means you can map 128 parameters from a plug-in to the controller.
Although you can easily map encoders to any parameter in your session, some templates are included for popular plug-ins.
Pre-orders for MP MIDI are open from now until 30 October, with the introductory price set at €650, plus €60 for worldwide shipping. The company expects orders to be shipped by January 2021.
