MF DOOM will be the season-long topic for the second edition of MC Serch’s Did I Ever Tell You The One About… podcast

The second season will drop on 25 October, but a short preview of the season can be heard on Apple Podcasts now.

According to a description of the programme, the season “takes an in-depth and personal look” at the life and career of MF DOOM, looking back at his early days as Zev Love X, his time in KMD and beyond and his reemergence as the iconic mask-donning emcee.

DOOM’s story will be told by his “family, friends and artists who knew him best” and feature his music as the soundtrack, along with “immersive” sound design to flesh things out. The programme was created with the approval of the late rapper’s widow and estate.

The inaugural season of the podcast, which was centred around Big Daddy Kane, was made up of nine episodes, each with a runtime of between 11 to 38 minutes long.

DOOM passed away last Halloween at the age of 49. The City Council of Long Beach honoured the late rapper by renaming one of its streets KMD – MF DOOM Way. The area was one frequented by DOOM and DJ Subroc in their younger years.

MC Serch was part of the late-80s hip-hop group 3rd Bass, whose minor hit The Gas Face featured a young MF DOOM, better known then as Zev Love X.
