Every week, we pick the latest electronic music releases that you should wrap your ears around. Here are five of our favourites:
Sugar by Peking Duk, Jack River
Peking Duk and Jack River’s Sugar is an on-trend throwback to late 90s bubblegum pop – shades of Aqua, Vengaboys and Ace of Base.
Lift You Up by Zeds Dead, Delta Heavy
The addictive Lift You Up is the latest track from Zeds Dead. With some help from British EDM outfit Delta Heavy, the Canadian duo experiment with drum ’n’ bass on the lively, dance-ready song.
Dawan by Apparat
Apparat, born Sascha Ring, is back with a new single, Dawan. The lush song mixes orchestral elements, guitar and drums to create a dreamy soundscape. The track is from the musician’s first solo album in six years, LP5, which will drop in March.
Ibrik by Bonobo
As part of Fabric Records’ mix series, Fabric Presents, Bonobo has released Ibrik. The six-minute trip-hop track features energetic synths with a smattering of percussion to match. The LA-based DJ/producer will helm the series’ inaugural mix, which is due out next month.
We Can Be Friends by What So Not, Herizen
Australian DJ What So Not – real name Chris Emerson – has teamed up with singer Herizen for We Can Be Friends. The producer’s first release since his 2018 album, Not All the Beautiful Things, the track is a chill synth pop bop that Emerson said he put together during a writing camp in Nicaragua.
