Back in May 2019, Point Blank sat down with Jax Jones at the International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza to discuss the British producer/DJ’s creative process. You can now view the full conversation through a recently uploaded video on Point Blank’s YouTube channel.
In the video, Jones first explains his approach to songwriting and production, detailing how he maximises his limited studio time with an artist. He then discusses the ingredients of his Ivor Novello-nominated hit, Breathe featuring Ina Wroldsen, before sharing tips on artist collaboration and how to spot the finer track details that influence a listener’s emotional attachment.
Last but not least, the producer/DJ also gave an overview of his favourite plug-ins, including SlateDigital’s Virtual Tape Machines, Valhalla DSP’s Valhalla Room and Tal’s TAL-U-NO-LX.
