The first release from TikTok’s TikTok Top Moments NFT collection was supposed to have gone on sale on 6 October, but the date has come and gone without nary a peep from the social media platform about the delay.

Sources have now told Rolling Stone that the Lil Nas X x Rudy Willingham NFT may not be coming at all, and that other creators associated with the program are starting to get cold feet.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, three people with knowledge of the rollout described the entire ordeal as “a challenge,” “a mess,” and “a complete joke”, with TikTok star Bella Poarch’s team allegedly contemplating pulling out of the program.

This is despite TikTok reportedly offering marketing support for Poarch’s next release, a figure Rolling Stone says may be worth $4 million. A TikTok spokesperson told the outlet that this detail wasn’t accurate, however.

It was also reported that the creators and artists involved in the NFT collection were offered special incentives for the drop, as creating NFTs under their personal brands would not require TikTok’s involvement at all.

TikTok’s TikTok Top Moments NFT collection is set to feature NFTs created by Lil Nas X, Rudy Willingham, Bella Poarch, Curtis Roach, Brittany Broski, FNMeka, Jess Marciante and Gary Vaynerchuk in collaboration with COIN ARTIST, x0r, RTFKT, Grimes, and other NFT artists. The collection includes 1-of-1 NFTs as well as several limited-edition NFTs for fans to buy and collect.

TikTok has yet to announce a new release date for the collection’s first drop.
