Traktor Kontrol S3

Native Instruments has unveiled the latest addition to its esteemed DJ controller family – Traktor Kontrol S3.

Looking like a sibling to the S2 and S4, Kontrol S3 sports classic Traktor jog wheels and RGB pads. Kontrol S3 features four-channel mixing, removing some of the more advanced components that the S4 offers, such as the effects panel on the top panel. As with most Traktor decks, the Kontrol S3 will come bundled with Native Instruments DJ software, Traktor Pro 3.

Kontrol S3 is designed for club use and interactive performance, with its four-channel mixer, pitch faders and dual deck control. Each channel has three-band EQ adjustment and quick effects blending via a single knob above each gain pot. Eight effects can be selected, and three filter types are on offer.

Light rings around each jog wheel provide visual feedback, with deck selection activation and track-end warnings. You can also select between vinyl-style, touch-sensitive top plates or classic controller jog modes. Below the jog wheels are eight RGB pads on either side, which can be used to trigger hot cues, save and replay loops and launch samples.

The S3 acts as an audio interface, and features XLR and RCA main outputs, along with a quarter-inch TRS booth output and 3.5 / 6.3mm headphone outs. Native Instruments have included a combo XLR input onboard, as well as an additional RCA input to accommodate for external audio inputs.

Traktor Kontrol S3 is available now for pre-order for $649.00, and is due to be shipped from 5 November.
