New UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3 features upgraded connectivity

Available in QUAD or OCTO Core formats, Universal Audio’s UAD-2 Satellite DSP accelerator now features Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. That means you no longer need that pesky adaptor to run one on a Thunderbolt 3 machines such as Apple’s laptops. The new Satellite also has a second Thunderbolt 3 port for daisy-chaining devices – something the high-bandwidth connection standard was designed to facilitate. All the while the new device is backwardly compatible with Thunderbolt 1 & 2 devices, too.

Like all UAD-2 devices, the new Satellite gives Mac and Windows 10 users access to rich and authentic emulation plug-ins from the UAD platform, taking load off your computer’s processor. The platform is home to over 100 detailed plug-ins from creators like Ampex, Lexicon, Helios, Studer, Neve, Manley and many more.

To get users mixing right away, Satellite purchases include UA’s Analog Classics Plus bundle right out of the box.
