Old Blood Noise Endeavors (OBNE) has launched a signal wrangling effects pedal – MAW, or Microphone Audio Workstation. Initially developed as a simple effects pedal for vocalists, MAW has become a flexible manipulation pedal for any application that involves a microphone (or anything else you can hook up to it…). The pedal is designed to be a “versatile tool for studio tinkerers or it can be an all-in-one for creative vocalists looking to control their live sound”, OBNE says.

MAW features a mic preamp that is fed into three foot-switchable effect engines and an effects loop for integrating your own external effects. Two foot-switchable multi-effects engines boast saturation, reverb, delay, flange and rotate functions. Control parameters allow you to change the effects, along with mix knobs to control wet/dry, a blend knob, a volume knob and a tone knob.

The audio workstation can receive input from XLR or quarter-inch jack, with dual outputs for Wet, switchable between quarter-inch or XLR, or Post-saturation Dry with XLR. MAW is powered by nine-volt power supply.

Also new is OBNE’s Signal Blender, which was announced in September and is now available for purchase. Signal Blender can help with your signal flow and find new sounds, functioning as a 3-to-1 mixer, 1-to-3 splitter, volume level setter and more.

The OBNE MAW is available now for £249, and the Signal Blender is available for £125.
