Not too long ago, Ohad Nissim showed us around his Funkhaus mastering studio that he and Guy James Cohen share. The studio is full of impressive gear, synths and homely decor that makes the space very unique. The pair shared some of their music production wisdom with us and now, Ohad takes a deep dive into the mastering process undertaken with Loopop’s recent synth focused album.

In the video below, Ohad details which plug-ins and outboard gear he used to master the album, and explains why he took to each particular device and configuration. Using the original Pro Tools session, Ohad shows A/B comparisons of the track with and without his processing. The video also provided insight into Ohad’s signal path and how he sets up multiple busses to route the track through to different effects to achieve the best possible sound.

The 10-minute segment is part of the YouTuber’s quickfire video tutorial of how to turn an idea into a fully mastered album. Loopop collaborated with YouTube to release the album on YouTube’s music library, for other content creators to use within their videos.
