NAMM 2020: PreSonus Quantum 2626 builds on the brand’s Thunderbolt interface line
The latest audio interface uses Thunderbolt 3 connectivity to achieve less than 1ms latency
NAMM 2020: PreSonus expands its Thunderbolt Quantum range with the Quantum 2626, delivering a recording and monitoring resolution of 24-bit/192kHz.
PreSonus’ Quantum 2626 Thunderbolt 3 audio interface is to be debuted at next week’s NAMM event, boasting a “barely measurable roundtrip latency, as low as <1ms” according to the brand. The interface is the next addition to the ever-building range of Thunderbolt 3 equipped sound cards from PreSonus.
The aptly named Quantum 2626 offers up to 26 inputs and outputs, with eight XMAX Class A analogue mic preamps, two instrument inputs for connecting guitar or bass directly, and six balanced line level inputs for synths. An additional 18 inputs and outputs are available via ADAT/dual SMUX and S/PDIF. High-quality converters on each of the analogue inputs and outputs provide 115dB of dynamic range, ideal for capturing complex musical ideas.
Eight quarter-inch TRS outputs are DC coupled for sending control voltage. Two balanced Main outs are onboard, plus two high-volume headphone outs and MIDI In/Out. To ensure a tight sync between devices, the Quantum 2626 features a BNC world clock I/O. The interface is housed in a 1U rack-mountable all-metal chassis with metal knobs.
PreSonus’ Studio One DAW is included with the Quantum 2626 to allow a complete recording solution.
The Quantum 2626 is available now at PreSonus dealers at a U.S. street price of $600. For more information visit presonus.com. Get up to date on what’s happening at NAMM here.
