Reason+

Reason Studios has announced Reason+, a subscription service that provides access to the Reason DAW, Reason Rack and new Sound Packs every week. The monthly or yearly subscription is available immediately and will ensure that your Reason software is always up-to-date.

Reason+ will give you the full version of the Reason DAW, with all of its arrangement functions, instruments and effects and the Reason Rack plug-in. The Reason Rack lets you use all of Reason’s 70+ instruments, effects and MIDI Player effects within Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, FL Studio, Pro Tools and more, running as an AAX, AU or VST3 plug-in. This includes Europa, Kong, Grain and the more recent Friktion and Pattern Mutator. Any new devices and features in future versions will be immediately available as part of your subscription.

Sound Packs are essentially preset packs, comprising whole signal chains inspired by genres and styles. These are instantly configurable, letting you add, swap and tweak instruments and effects to achieve a sound that is unique to you. Upcoming titles include Funkadelia, Walkman Warrior, Garage House and Avant Rock Guitars, with new additions every week.

“Like samples, Sound Packs speed up the music-making process, triggering ideas quickly”, says Reason Studios CEO Timothy Self. “However, unlike samples that often make you sound just like everybody else, Sound Packs take you way beyond”.

Reason+ subscriptions are available immediately on a monthly or yearly basis. The monthly plan will cost you $20/€20, with the yearly plan priced at $199/€199. A 30-day free trial is also available if you’d like to test out Reason and the Reason Rack in your workflow.

Reason Studios will be hosting a livestream at 7 pm CET, discussing the backstory of Reason+ and a live demonstration of the software
