Roland Cloud intros three new models to its SRX lineup

Roland Cloud has updated its SRX catalogue with three brand new software models – the SRX Electric Piano, SRX Strings and SRX Brass. The models are created in the spirit of the professional SRX expansion modules that could be used to get higher quality sounds from existing synths, workstations and sound modules. However, according to Roland, the new offerings afford greater versatility and function than their forebears.

Rhodes, Wurlitzer and clavinet styles are included in the sound library of the SRX Electric Piano and can be used to convey tones ranging from “bright and vibrant, to dusky and warm”. To achieve this, the samples were recorded with high-end mics and converters at multiple velocities to preserve audio detail.

The SRX Strings model contains 128 presets, some of which are programmed to be responsive to playing dynamics. With presets like ‘Trems w/fine’, softer notes create a tremolo effect while more aggressive notes produce a smoothly bowed sound. The SRX Strings also comes with tweakable parameters for users to experiment with.

This new collection is wrapped up with the SRX Brass, featuring a diverse range of patches that can accommodate a wide variety of purposes. Described as “a superb collection of sounds that capture the true articulations of traditional bass instruments and ensembles”, the SRX Brass can be used for anything, from song production to film scoring.

The SRX Electric Piano, SRX Strings and SRX Brass can all be mapped to the SYSTEM-8 or other hardware synthesisers.
