Score a clip from DC’s Stargirl and win $20k in Spitfire Audio products and a mentoring session with Pinar Toprak

Download the unscored clip and leave your mark for a chance to win.

Spitfire Audio has teamed up with DC Entertainment, Mad Ghost Productions and A-list composer Pinar Toprak on a scoring competition involving Stargirl, DC’s superhero series.

If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can download an exclusive clip from season one of Stargirl and make it your own. You’ll have until 12 August 2021 to reimagine the scene and be in the running for a Spitfire Audio Everything Collection, comprising every Spitfire Audio library on two external SSDs and worth over $20,000. The winner will also receive a virtual mentoring session with Stargirl composer Pinar Toprak and a manuscript of the Stargirl Theme signed by Toprak.

Four runners-up will receive the Spitfire Audio Albion Collection and a signed manuscript of the Stargirl Theme.

According to Spitfire Audio, the clip that Toprak has chosen for the competition goes from “intense action to drama very quickly”. It’s your job to wrap these moments with suitable music.

You’ll be judged on the individuality of your score – it’s not necessary to stay in line with the entire Stargirl series. You can use any DAW and instrumentation; just make sure you’re leaving your style on the track. Your music should fit with the dialogue and sound effects on screen, and your score should handle the mix of emotions in the transition.

Whether this is your first score to picture or you’re well-versed in scoring and sound design, this is a great opportunity to practice with top-tier material. Pinar Toprak and Spitfire Audio will judge your work, and the winner will be announced on 23 September 2021. You’ll need to submit your score via the application form on the Spitfire Audio website, as well as uploading the final video to your YouTube account with the tag #MyStargirlScore.

Pinar Toprak has over 20 years of experience in music composition across film, TV and video games. She has scored superhero sagas such as Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel, DC’s Stargirl, SY-FY’s Superman series Krypton, and Epic Games’ Fortnite.
