Serato Play is now free for a limited time

The DJ software lets you mix from your laptop instantly with Tidal and SoundCloud integration

Alongside a plethora of other software developers that have made their products free in the wake of COVID-19, Serato chimes in with a free rollout of Serato Play. The fully-featured DJ software allows you to mix without the use of hardware. You’ll be able to use the usual mixing features like crossfading, pitch, gain, EQ and filtering, but there’s also additional effects onboard too.

Flip, Pitch’n’Time DJ, Video and FX are all accessible in Serato Play. Hotkeys and split-cue monitoring let you slice and juggle your tracks in your own way, with a deep level of customisation and the ability to record your own sets.

Usually priced at $29, Serato Play gives you access to Tidal and SoundCloud streaming – provided you have a subscription to the streaming service. This is ideal for DJs just starting out who may not have an extensive music library. You’ll also be able to sink your teeth into Tidal’s curated playlists and SoundCloud PRO lists.

Serato Play is free until the end of May 2020. Find out more at serato.com
