The Soundbrenner Core and Core Steel is a new 4-in-1 wearable smart music tool that looks to revolutionise practice for musicians…
You may remember several issues ago our review of the Soundbrenner Pulse, the inaugural product from the innovative Hong Kong-based developers. We were very big fans, and now, with the arrival of Soundbrenner Core and Core Steel, are once again excited to see what’s in store.
Featuring a revised and expanded version of the Pulse’s metronome software, Soundbrenner Core will allow users to delve into rhythm customisations, multiplayer synchronisation, DAW integration, and more, as well as integrating with the company’s original metronome app.
Perhaps the most exciting feature of Core is the removable tuner ring, which magnetically attaches to any guitar, bass, ukulele or violin. Able to detect micro-vibrations thanks to the in-built Piezo mic, Soundbrenner tells us that tuning can be achieved in even the noisiest of environments. The tuning ring also features LED lighting that serves as a tuning guide. The noisy environment considerations don’t stop there as Soundbrenner Core also features a decibel meter, that alerts the user to potentially harmful volume levels.
Best of all, the Core also functions as an everyday watch and can receive push and calls notifications from a user’s smartphone.
Available in two models, the Core is made of high-quality polycarbonate and aluminium, and the Core Steel made of, unsurprisingly, stainless steel. Both models are water (not submerged!) and dust resistant, and can sport five interchangeable straps made from silicone, woven nylon and premium Italian leather.
