Vocal Production Weekend
After much demand SubBass Academy of Electronic Music have launched a new Vocal Production weekend course. The two day programme launches on the 25th April and will be taught by industry professionals Lizzie Curious and Fabio Lendrum. The two days will consist of working with vocals within the dance music spectrum of producing music, covering recording, comping, mixing, sampling and FX.
Using vocals in your dance tracks creates a human connection that makes your track unique and easily recognisable. This bespoke weekend course, designed by two industry professionals, takes you through all the vital elements of Vocal Production, using a highly interactive and hands-on method.
This course is perfect for anyone with a basic knowledge of Logic who is looking to learn more about vocal production. Whether you want to record vocals from your home studio or hire out a professional space to record in, we’ll give you the key techniques to work with a singer to get the very best from them and then develop your editing skills so you are confident working on a variety of vocals.
On Day One we take you through the recording environment, from setting up your studio to record vocals, getting the best out of working with your vocalist and the set-up to record in Logic. You’ll take part in recording a live vocal session, so you can see first hand how to get the best vocal delivery.
On Day Two we hit the workstations and you’ll learn how to edit down vocals: we take you through the key stages of comping and mixing the vocals, with tips on how to polish up takes and how to use FX. You’ll work on a track yourself so you have strong hands-on experience and we’ll supply you with an arrangement template and personalised presets to take away, so you can create your own killer tracks.
The Vocal Production Weekend launches on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April from 12 – 8pm.
