Toontrack kicks & snares

Toontrack’s virtual drumming software is already jam-packed with an impressive collection of drum sounds, like the recent Decades SDX pack which was designed with the legendary Al Schmidt. Now Toontrack are back with Kicks & Snares, which is exactly as it says on the tin – a collection of 74 multi-sampled instruments containing around 130 unique kick and snare samples to toy around with.

The kicks and snares can be modified to your liking with alternative tuning and recording configurations. Plus, each position of the kick and snare has four extra channels, with individually processed versions. This includes Sub, Skin Lo, Skin Hi and Club/Stick. Or, you can navigate through almost 100 kit presets, which range from traditional mixes to more elaborate sounding mixes.

So, why just a collection of kicks and snares? “Toontrack know that the two main ingredients in any mix regardless of style or genre are the kick and the snare and engineers and producers would undoubtedly agree. The Toontrack Kicks & Snares EZX will give you exactly that… kicks and snares”, the brand says. Still, the pack does include one set of toms, two crashes, one ride and one set of hi-hats so you can quickly test out an entire kit.

Owners of EZDrummer 2 and Superior Drummer 3 can take advantage with this new pack, which will cover musical styles from acoustic, pop, hip-hop, ambient, electronic and more. Toontrack has designed Kicks & Snares EZX with versatility in mind. Toontrack has an overview demo which you can watch below.
