Last year Roland announced that they would be reissuing both their 303 and 909 synthesizers after being unavailable for 30 years. For those of you in a hurry for some 303 to whet your whistle there’s something a little smaller in the works courtesy of Bram Bros in the shape of the Troublemaker app for iOS.

303

“One of the most coveted sounds in electronic music since 1987, a key ingredient of acid house and countless other styles, recreated as a universal iOS plug-in. It syncs with Ableton Link, runs in all major DAWs as an Audio Unit plug-in, works with Audiobus, is fully controllable with MIDI CC and exports MIDI and WAV files. It can sound like a bass guitar but excels at barking, quacking, chirping and wowing.”

High praise indeed, but unfortunately we’re unable to verify the truth behind it. With no release date or pricing structure announced we’ll have to wait and see. Fortunately there’s a short demo video showing off Troublemaker that you can watch below.
