Grammy-nominated electronic producer Tycho has announced a deluxe package of his seminal album, Dive, which turns 10 this month. In addition, Tycho will also perform a special live show to commemorate the anniversary.

The multi-faceted artist, real name Scott Hansen, took to Twitter to announce the news and reflect on the 10 years since Dive’s creation. He reveals that the album’s re-release will include a physical deluxe package, a coloured vinyl repress, and digital art.
Tycho has recently made movements into the NFT world, indicating that the “digital art” could be made available as an NFT.

In light of the pandemic, Tycho has also hosted and participated in livestreamed shows, which included the artist performing in the woods of California on New Year’s Day 2021. He is yet to confirm whether the Dive live show will be streamed, but given his interest in the platform, we hazard a guess it will be an online performance.

Tycho recalls that the 10 years since Dive have “spanned a period where I moved from my hometown of Sacramento to San Francisco, transitioned from my career as a graphic designer to a full-time musician and signed with a record label.”

“It was the impetus for forming the band and Zac, Rory and I ended up spending the better part of the next eight years touring and recording. It’s been an incredible trip and every day I am grateful to be on this journey, it has been one of the most fulfilling things I’ll ever experience.”

Speaking to MusicTech last year, Tycho said: “Dive in particular is a journey. It’s one of those records that people have accepted as a singular work, as opposed to a collection of songs, which is really cool. It also benefited from six years of rethinking and me being able to go back and consider how it all fits together. It was definitely one of those records where I had the luxury of time.”
