Nick Reinhart loves making weird, experimental noises with his guitar and gear. The Tera Melos guitarist is usually known for his impressive collection of guitar pedals and two-hand tapping. However, his new live rig has caught our eye.

In the video above, he explains his use of Meris gear, Roland SP-404, a cardboard smiley face and more. The smiley face is bound to catch one’s attention fairly quickly. It’s comprised of an Alesis AirFX and an Alesis Air Synth – two motion-controlled devices that connect to the rest of his set-up, ready for looping.

After his short performance, he goes into depth about his process, and how his set-up affects the sound of his instruments. While he continues to record with his band, Tera Melos, he has recently been performing solo with this live rig.
