This new course from Producertech sees producer John Tejada (Kompakt, Cocoon, Defected, Palette Recordings) recreate his 2011 minimal house track Unstable Condition using Ableton Live. There are 11 videos in total, spanning over two hours, and you also get the project files, plus 60MB of samples taken from his Loopmasters pack. Chapters cover building up the drums, designing the lead and other synths using Wavetable, effects processing, EQ, compression, automation, the Haas effect, and master bus processing.
Despite the track being nearly 10 years old, it still sounds great due to some excellent sound design and forward thinking production. Tajeda purposefully didn’t prep too much for the course, so that he can talk through his working as he rebuilds each part. This makes it a little slow in places, but there are still some good tips to be found.
